About the Author. D. Kim Martineau spent four years as a youngster in Colonia Juarez, Mexico, and another five years in Mexico City. The author’s father was born in Colonia Chuichupa, and graduated from the Juarez Academy. The family visited Colonia Chuichupa, Colonia Garcia, the Hacienda San Diego, and many places in Mexico. The author served in the U.S. Army for 25 years, retiring as a CW4 Chief Warrant Officer, Spanish and Russian-speaking Interrogation Technician, including service at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, the home of The Buffalo Soldier. He then served another 15 years as an Intelligence Officer, Defense Intelligence Agency, including service in Iraq. The author has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of the State of New York. He is married, and lives in Corona, California.
